| Bio: | It's always been a challenge for me to write a bio about myself. There are all the easy facts that can be told. Such as, I moved to San Luis Obispo with family from Santa Cruz when I was 10 years old. Most of my extended family is split between Santa Cruz and Fresno, where I was born. I love the San Luis Obispo area, there is a wonderful combination of foothills, beaches, and desert like areas. The only think I can think of that would make me leave would be work related. But, there are plenty of jobs in this area, and I'm diversified enough in experience to be able to handle a number of jobs. So, I doubt that will be much of a concern. Speaking of relationships (I know I wasn't, but that's the easiest segue I could come up with), I met someone a little over a month ago, and we're working on building a relationship. Things have moved fast the first few weeks, but we're working to slow down to a steady pace and give each other a chance. Most of my immediate family; Father, sister, and nephews (sister's children), live in the San Luis Obispo area. My mother passed away several years ago from kidney failure, and since we dropped her ashes off the coast of Avila, she really no long has a permanent address (I know "how morbid" ;) ). I do have a brother, but he's a bit of the 'black sheep' of the family. He's also a bit of the survivalist/militia type. From what I last heard, he's somewhere in Colorado, living a life as far under the radar as he can manage. I work in San Luis Obispo as the Buyer for a medical product manufacturing company. We make orthotic products used in rehabilitation and geriatrics. It is a challenging line of work for a fairly good company. I've been at the current company since 1999, and unless they kick me out, I'll probably be there for years to come. Things are not always smooth at work, as you will find in my various posts, but they have gotten better and have not yet reached the point where I'm going to walk out of the office and never come back. I enjoy reading, music, movies, hiking, spending time with friends, and TV (probably a bit too much TV). I've tried my hand at cooking due to health challenges (which I will get into in a few lines), and have had a few successes. Cooking is an art I would like to master, and one I enjoy attempting. Several years ago I was diagnosed with Diabetes. My first blood glucose reading was almost 700mg/Dl, which is 'Oh my God' high. Since then, I've lost a bit of weight, started exercising, and eating better, and started taking oral medication. My blood glucose isn't a low as I would like it to be, but it is becoming more manageable. I'm hoping to lose another 25 pounds, or so. That will help me reach a better level of health. I guess that covers most everything except for the physical stuff. I am 6', currently at 240lbs, and have a 'bear' type build. My eyes are hazle, and have reddish/brown hair. I'm generally sporting some type of facial hair. Most of the time it'll be a goatee, but I've been known to have off the moustache part, or let a full bear grow. Well, that's about all the 'bio' I can think of. If there's anything I've not mentioned that you're curious about, please ask.
